Welcome to the Happy Homemaking site, your home on the net for all things related to homemaking. Together we are going to make homemaking fun!!

I know, you're looking around your house right now thinking "Housework? Fun? No way!" But trust me, by working together as a team we will do it!

By using the Happy Homemaking approach to your home, you will become better organized in your cleaning, and even more importantly you will be Happy, which is what we are all about. You won't run yourself ragged trying to get everything done. Instead we will work on our houses in small bites, eating away at the messy monster until it is gone.

I have broken down all of our houses into five different sections, called M.O.M. Spots. We will spend half an hour in a different spot each day. That's right, we'll be changing rooms every single day! No more chugging through one room a week, which, I know, can get very dull and boring. Here at Happy Homemaking, we will hit every single room, or Spot, in your house every week. That way you won't just be getting a Spot cleaned, only to not look at it again until the next month.

I have also made up some basic M.O.M. Spot cleaning lists to help get you started. You will be adding to those as you go along. Check out what the Spots are and where we're headed by clicking on M.O.M. Spots on the side bar.

One saying you will hear a lot is M.O.M which is My Oh My. This is what you are aiming for. We want to change our lives from messy to M.O.M. You want to be able to walk into any room of your house, or better yet, have someone come over to your home and say "My Oh My does that look clean!" And guess what? Together we will get every room in your house looking like a M.O.M!!

The most important part of getting to M.O.M are your routines. I have broken them down into more managable bits for you. Click here to go to the Happy Homemaking routines.

Another important step to M.O.M is making sure that you leave every room looking like you were never there. When you are done in the kitchen, you want to erase any evidence that you were ever in that room. These will be called M.O.M checks and they will come about randomly throughout the day. M.O.M checks are essential to keeping your house running smoothly and Happily!!

There are two groups I want to tell you about right now. These are all part of the Happy Homemaking family.

First is the Happy Homemaking group. I created this group as a place for all of us to post our M.O.M. Maintainence To Do's and Ta Da's and for a little bit of Happy Homemaking chat.I would love to get to know each of you a bit better and work together as a team to make our homes Happy ones!  Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HappyHomemaking/ to join.

For a lot of fun, wonderful friends and a LOT of chatting, we have our Hearth and Home group. This is a group filled with great friends and tons of fun. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HearthandHome/ to join. Beware, though, this is a very chatty list.

Together, we will take the chore out of homemaking!!

If you have any questions, comments, tips, hints or recipes, or if you would just like to email me and let me know how things are going, go to HappyHomemaking@hotmail.com. I don't have time to respond to all the emails, but I do my best!

Happy Homemaking!!

This Week's M.O.M Maintenance

Ok, everyone, we're still working on our Morning Routine. You're coming along really well and you should feel very proud!

We have one last item to add to our Morning Routine. You're almost there!! Today we're adding a load of laundry a day. Every day we need to do at least one load, to keep ahead of it. Now, one load of laundry means washed, dried, folded and put away. Not just washed and left in the washer or dryer or piled on the floor somewhere. That just adds to the clutter. Everything needs to be completely put away or the job's not done!!

Happy Homemaking!!
